Maps and Atlases played an incredible show in der Rathskeller in the Union on Friday, March 4th. But then again, they always do. This Chicago-based group played on the same stage only last fall, but that had only a positive effect on show turnout. The Rathskeller was packed with the Union show regulars and it created a great atmosphere to enjoy one of my favorite bands. M&As played a lot off of their album, Perch Patchwork, released last fall. This band is so talented and the way they can transfer their spot- on intricate guitar riffs to their live show is amazing. And, as rare of an occurrence as this is for Union shows, the band returned to the stage to play a two song encore to the delight of their fans. This show was definitely one of my favorites so far this year, and a lot of that was due to the high energy between both the band and the crowd.
